Why did you select the inspiration pieces? I selected these inspiration pieces because they were women and had a similar facial structure to myself 2. Why did you select the media to create your self-portrait? I used a pencil because I think I pencil is the easiest when creating a piece of work. It is easy to fix mistakes that you have made and you can easily draw over pencil marks. 3. What challenges did you face in creating your self-portrait and how did you overcome them? I faced a few challenges when creating more portrait. One challenge was drawing my teeth in my smile. I drew my teeth a numerous times and I was never happy with them. I ended up just lightly sketching teeth so you can get the idea that they are teeth but I didn't have to make the exact shape. Another challenge I faced was drawing my smile lines. The first time I drew them they seemed to look like wrinkles and made me look at a lot older. So again I lightly sketched them and the final product turned out better than the first time. 4. How does this piece represent you? This piece represents me because it shows who I am. It is an exact picture and drawing of myself. 5. What elements and principles of art did you apply in this work? I applied texture throughout my portrait. I used texture when drawing my hair eyelashes and eyebrows. The lines I used when drawing hair gave my picture texture by setting my hair apart from my overall face 6. Did you enjoy working on this project? This was one of my least favorite projects I worked on in this class. I do not like projects where I have to draw because I am not artistic and it gives me a great amount of stress. I kept drawing the sames lines over and over just so I could get the right image. It took me a great amount of time. 7. What do you think of your final artwork? My final artwork came out ok. I'm sure if I was an artist it would have been better, but I think it represents me to the best of my artistic ability.
